What a blast !!!!!!! The Camp went on without any major glitches. The weather were so hot unexpectedly for the fall season that all campers enjoyed the water games so much. The heat of the campfire warmed up everyone and  the Mid-Autumn parade was taken place under the moonless cool night. The Halloween haunted house scared some of the young campers. However, most of them went out  with big smiles on their faces. Learning activities, such as pitching tents, tying knots and using compasses,  were  also set up harmoniously with all youth discussions by Venerable Thich Thong Lai.

On behalf of the Youth Committee of La Hầu La Camp from 8/9/2013-8/11/2013 at Olympia, WA, we would like to say Thank You for all your supports. Without your participation, the camp can't be successful and having fun.

Kudos to Trưởng Hy from Liên Đoàn Việt Hùng, Seattle, WA, who came to the camp after work to help us build the camp fire. Your personal time is precious and appreciated !!!!!

Kudos to Tr Nhan and Tr. Khoa who gave us information and coordinated all the helps. That's the scout spirit !!!!!!!

Kudos to all Youth Leaders who led your teams to compete in all the activities. We knew that it's hard to manage the whole group aged from 4 to 18.

Kudos to all Adults and Parents who didn't refuse whatever we asked you to do and watched out for the young campers' safety. Children is always first.

Kudos to all Monks of Tầm Nguyên system and Volunteers who spent a lot of time to prepare delicious foods, set up all the tents and gave us the place to sleep and play.

Especially Kudos to Venerable Thích Thông Lai who has committed himself to support all the needs and lead the Youth Vietnamese generation to the right direction.

Kudos to all Unsung Heroes whose names we don't remember and who worked behind the scenes to help us run the camp smoothly and cooperatively.

What a blast was our Huong Viet III Camp !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our LD had a good time at Summer in The Castle at Camp Garrison, PA from 5/31/2013-6/2/2013. The weather was so nice for our morning learning stations and hot enough for the afternoon water games. All Parents and scouts participated in all activities such as water ice breakers and team friendly competition, badminton, soccer, archery, BB guns and camp fire. Especially, I got the ultimate prize for the "loudest voice" in the karaoke contest. "Sing loud if you don't sing well" is our scout spirit.

The main dishes, mì quảng, bún thịt nướng, gỏi rong biển, cháo gà, hột gà lộn and philly cheese steaks, were so delicious cooked by our iron chiefs, A. Chau, A. Long, Thuy, and Thanh. How about desserts? Coconut jello, french cakes and chè khoai môn were too good for me, a diabetic and food lover, to refuse. Once a year opportunity and more exercises for me. Hehehe.

Even though we all have fun, our scouts also had a chance to sharpen their camping skills such as using compasses, pitching tents and tying knots led by our familiar leaders, Carmelle, Giang , Tu, Thi and myself.

"Vừa học vừa chơi" or "Leaning and having fun" is the main principle in scouting. Hopefully our scouts can use what they have learned like team working and dealing with challenges in their real lives.

We can see the evidence through our observation since 2008. Our girl scouts have develop and shown their leaderships and leading our cub and boy scouts to all activities in the right direction.

Congratulations to the 5th year anniversary of our LD Huong Viet.

We can't forget about the parents, A. Sach. A. Trung, C. Hong, C. Cam, Vu and Thao who worked behind the scenes such as providing water for the activities, working in the kitchen, setting and cleaning afterwards.

Please forgive us if we misses anyone.

Kudos to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. the camporee can't succeed without your presences and supports.
